Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to have the following qualifications for the SQL Database Administrator position:
- An active Secret Clearance.
- Must be a US Citizen without Dual Citizenship to another country due to federal requirements.
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 7 years of experience in database administration or related technologies.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL.
- Availability to work on-site at a government facility in Colorado Springs, CO, five days per week.
- Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to the work location.
- Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs is required.
Responsibilities
In your role as a SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for:
- Administering and maintaining SQL Server database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
- Monitoring database operational status and performance to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Overseeing database replication monitoring and fault correction.
- Identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing strategies for optimization.
- Designing databases, conducting data modeling, and managing schemas to meet application requirements and performance goals.
- Implementing and maintaining database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption.
- Conducting capacity planning and forecasting to support future growth.
- Developing and maintaining efficient database backup and recovery strategies.
- Collaborating with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures.
- Creating and maintaining documentation related to database configurations and troubleshooting.

Compensation for this role will be based on factors such as job location, education, training, experience, and market analysis. Salary ranges will be aligned with job duties and relevant work experience. The minimum salary for this position is $85,000.00, and the maximum salary is $115,000.00. Please note that an applicant's salary history will not be considered in determining compensation. We adhere to regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds. We also provide a variety of benefits, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid holidays, and paid time off.
