Requirements
Must:
- Currently possess a Top Secret SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 3+ years of relevant IT experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on SQL Server administration experience, specifically with SQL Server 2016 or newer.
- Experience in supporting on-premises environments; cloud experience is neither required nor expected.
- Demonstrated capability in applying and maintaining DISA SQL STIGs.
- Familiarity with tools and techniques for backups, performance tuning, and database health monitoring.
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II compliance (e.g., Security+ CE) is required prior to start date.
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL is a plus.
Responsibilities
- I will install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022 environments within on-premises infrastructures.
- My tasks include performing database administration duties such as backups, restores, integrity checks, job scheduling, and index maintenance.
- I will troubleshoot and resolve SQL performance issues in clustered, highly available enterprise settings.
- I will apply DISA STIGs to SQL Server environments, ensuring databases comply with security standards and hardening protocols.
- My role requires participating in change management, resolving incidents, and documenting database environments and configurations.
- I will collaborate with application owners to optimize and enhance application performance.
- I will implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions using native SQL features such as Always On Availability Groups or Failover Clustering.
- Participating in system upgrades, patching cycles, and version migrations will also be part of my responsibilities.
- I will write and maintain SQL scripts and PowerShell automation for administrative tasks.
