Requirements

Must:
- I require a Bachelor's degree with 10-16 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. - Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. - Advanced language skills in C++ within a Linux environment are essential. - I am looking for individuals who are eager to lead and mentor a group of senior and junior developers toward successful product delivery. - Familiarity with Software Design Patterns is necessary. - I prefer candidates who have a basic understanding of MBSE Systems Modeling Language (SysML) tools such as Cameo or Magic Draw. - Experience with virtualized development and production environments (VMware, Docker, etc.) is required. - Candidates should have experience with Agile-based methodologies using the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) or similar tools. - Effective communication skills are vital to share ideas, concepts, designs, and technical plans with our team. - I value integrity in working with both employees and customers.

Responsibilities

- I will need you to provide technical leadership on small teams from project inception to project delivery. - You will coordinate with the project manager, customers, and other functional leads to develop schedules and budgets, allocate resources, and monitor progress. - Analyzing software requirements and breaking them down into derived functional requirements for the team to execute will be a key part of your role. - You will design architectures for autonomous systems and vehicles. - Developing features for software projects based on derived requirements and collaborating with engineers to estimate effort for these features will be expected. - I require you to arbitrate challenging technical decisions by listening, understanding, and working towards the best solutions to meet project requirements. - Collaborating with other software project leads to develop consistent processes and drive innovation in our software development methodologies is important. - You will engage engineers as a mentor, providing support for technical, communication, and executive skills. - Lastly, you will guide the team through the testing and evaluation process to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

Description

Leidos currently has an opening for an Autonomous Systems Software Architect to provide technical software engineering expertise in the design, development, and integration of Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle (UUV) programs. These programs aim to address existing and emerging maritime missions of national importance for a broad range of customers across various Department of Defense agencies. This position is based in either our Lynnwood, WA or Poulsbo, WA office, and we offer mixed hybrid work opportunities. While this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days following the original posting date, candidates should note that the pay range for this job level is between $104,650.00 and $189,175.00. This range serves as a general guideline, and additional factors will be considered when extending an offer.
