- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Required Experience: Fifteen (15) years' experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Certifications:
- Requires DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification
- Computing Environment (CE) Certification can be fulfilled with either Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications
- Six (6) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM) is required
- ITIL 4 platform certification is required
- Active Directory, Identity Management, SCCM, DNS, Group Policy, Active Role Servers, Privileged Account Management (PAM) Services, and MS Exchange are required
Responsibilities
As a Systems Administrator Senior, I will not only connect and enhance the IT systems that matter most but also ensure safer operational processes. Here’s how I can make an impact:
- Provide Tiers 1 and 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Perform account management tasks, including establishing, activating, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts
- Ensure compliance with applicable system security controls through configuration management
- Conduct periodic vulnerability scans of systems
- Offer support for IT systems’ day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution
- Implement IAVA security patches and document patch status in appropriate systems
- Communicate with agency management and internal customers regarding status updates
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning
- Troubleshoot complex IT system issues, providing detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets
- Oversee the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved throughout the resolution process
- Configure and manage UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, ensuring integrity of network components
- Collaborate with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Owner (ISO) during the Change and Configuration Management Process
- Complete milestones of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) as directed and track completion status
- Ensure IT Assets remain compliant with Identity & Access Control Management (ICAM) policy
- Support the design of systems and mission architecture alongside associated hardware
- Analyze and resolve complex problems related to server hardware and software integration

The salary range for this position is expected to be between $144,500 - $195,500, dependent on factors such as experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements. Our workplace is located in Annapolis Junction, MD, with less than 10% travel required. We primarily operate onsite.
