Must:
I require candidates to possess a Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree. An active Secret security clearance is mandatory. You should be capable of working autonomously while also thriving in a team environment, ensuring that stakeholders remain informed throughout the process. Strong customer interaction skills are essential, accompanied by a professional and solution-focused attitude. Exceptional research, decision-making, and organizational skills, along with a meticulous attention to detail, are highly valued. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are necessary to convey complex information clearly. A demonstrated ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems with a proactive approach is also expected. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Visio, for creating and interpreting process flows and documentation is essential. I expect a commitment to maintaining confidentiality while adhering to data protection standards and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will have you lead and assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of data center migration. You will be required to meet with Lead Engineers to identify, assess, and evaluate options to fulfill the functional and technical specifications for migration plans. Additionally, you will manage and coordinate the installation and upkeep of data center equipment. You will create architectural artifacts, which include system design diagrams, justifications for recommendations, and technical solution specifications that meet customer business needs and service delivery targets. Furthermore, I need you to coordinate and manage access and logistical support while ensuring compliance with security protocols. Collaboration with stakeholders to define the processes and standards guiding data center activities, as well as modifying existing SOPs for increased efficiency, is also part of your role. You will provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommissioning of physical equipment. Documenting System Installation Plans and System Administration Guides will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you may perform other tasks assigned by Lead Engineers or the Project Manager and will need to provide regular status updates in the requested format.
Description
I value knowledge and experience in IT Service Management, particularly with Remedy, as well as ITIL training and/or certification as required skills. Additionally, a Security+ CE or higher certification and a strong understanding of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts are desired skills. An MCSE certification would also be advantageous. This opportunity falls under the Leidos Defense E&CS group, where we are looking for a Migration Engineer to contribute to a significant data center migration project in Suitland, Maryland. Your role will involve providing technical leadership and support in IT planning, solution specification and design, implementation, and target architecture development for the AFNCR Consolidated Communication Center (CCC), supporting the 844th Communications Group at Joint Base Andrews. The anticipated pay range for this position is between $85,150.00 and $153,925.00, but please note that this range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Numerous factors, such as job responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity will be assessed when extending an offer.
