Requirements
Must:
- I require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution. Alternatively, four (4) additional years of software engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of fourteen (14) years of relevant software engineering experience is essential.
- I expect experience in maintaining and enhancing applications developed in Python.
- Hands-on experience in creating and managing data flows using Apache NiFi is necessary.
- A current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is mandatory to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities
- I will analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
- I will design, develop, debug, and enhance new or existing software systems in accordance with functional and technical standards.
- I will create and optimize data queries for existing and future databases or data repositories and design and implement complex data interfaces and flows.
- I will develop and refine algorithms to meet or exceed performance and functional requirements.
- I will contribute to process enhancement by suggesting documentation and development lifecycle improvements.
- I will serve as a technical lead when appropriate, guiding one or more software development teams and ensuring adherence to lifecycle standards and project goals.
- I will design and implement sophisticated algorithms while complying with timing, resource, and interface constraints.
- I will utilize scientific analysis and modeling to predict and assess outcomes related to software design decisions.
- I will collaborate with system and hardware engineers to gather requirements, comprehend limitations, and define performance metrics and system interactions.
- I will coordinate software installations and monitor system functionality to ensure operational efficiency.
Description
ManTech is in search of a Data Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team in Ft. Meade, MD. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems including processing-intensive analytics platforms, innovative algorithmic solutions, extensive data flows, real-time frameworks, and enterprise-level data systems. You will play a vital role in the development of mission systems that support national security objectives. Physical requirements include the ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time, operate a computer and other productivity equipment, and frequently communicate with coworkers, management, and customers, ensuring accurate information exchange and delivering presentations when necessary.
