Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a platform engineer who meets the following educational and experience requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline with a minimum of eight years of related experience.
- A master's degree in an associated discipline with a minimum of six years of experience.
- A PhD in an associated discipline with a minimum of four years of experience.
In addition, candidates should possess:
- Demonstrated expertise with computer-based systems and applications.
- Excellent programming skills in languages relevant to job-specific programming tasks.
- Experience applying industry-standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of systems engineering and software development lifecycles.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- The ability to work under deadlines.
Responsibilities
As a platform engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining on-premise software delivery systems.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and proposing scalable and efficient architectures.
- Providing technical guidance and support to development teams.
- Maintaining cluster infrastructure, optimizing nodes for reliability and performance, and ensuring high availability.
- Monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Implementing automation and monitoring tools for deployment and maintenance.
- Researching emerging technologies to enhance platform performance and evaluating their potential impact.
Description
This position requires on-site presence in Las Vegas, NV and is not eligible for telework. The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $170,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, health savings accounts, disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching.
We emphasize the importance of understanding and implementing operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements related to the role. Work conditions involve a typical office environment with occasional lifting and constant use of sight, speech, and hearing for communication. Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
Note that this role supports a federal government contract which necessitates U.S. citizenship, and some positions may require candidates to obtain a government security clearance or specific licenses.
