Linux Systems Administrator - Mid

As the system administrator, I will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems. I will ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers I manage meet the needs of the users. My focus may include several areas: - Database Administration: I will maintain a database system and ensure the integrity and efficiency of the data. - Network Administration: I will maintain network infrastructure such as switches and routers, diagnosing problems with network-attached computers. - Security Administration: I will specialize in computer and network security, managing security devices and consulting on general security measures. - Web Administration: I will maintain web server services, manage multiple sites, and administer security. - Software Change Management: I may also handle responsibilities in this area. - System Programming: I will create, modify, and test code and scripts that allow applications to run, as well as develop programs to store and retrieve documents and data. - Computer Operations: I will perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing backup tapes or replacing failed drives. - I will apply my expertise to multiple complex work assignments, often requiring originality and innovation to accomplish tasks. - With appreciable latitude, I will develop methodologies and present solutions to problems, contributing to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
