Requirements
Must:
- I require at least 3 years of experience with Elasticsearch Administration.
- I prefer direct experience maintaining and integrating Elasticsearch within an operational enterprise information system.
- I expect experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.
- Experience with deploying and using Elasticsearch in a Commercial Cloud Platform (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is a must.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
- A Master's degree with 15 or more years of prior relevant experience is required.
- A TS/SCI with Poly security clearance is needed for consideration.
Responsibilities
- I will maintain Elasticsearch clusters in a cloud-based environment across multiple availability zones.
- I expect to ensure the Elasticsearch clusters continue to run under optimal conditions.
- I will evaluate existing Elasticsearch clusters, configuration parameters, indexing, search and query performance tuning, security, and administration.
- Maintaining appropriate infrastructure to ensure performance and data integrity will be part of my responsibilities.
- I will keep Elasticsearch clusters upgraded (as permitted by the applications reliant on them).
- Customizing clusters to meet various development and/or business needs will be part of my role.
- I will optimize indexes to meet business needs (e.g., logging, enterprise search).
- Troubleshooting various issues with the clusters (from small errors like unassigned shards to automation issues and node/cluster failures) will be a key task.
- I will work closely with architecture, engineering, and development teams to ensure production scalability and stability.
- Ensuring the security of the Elasticsearch cluster will be one of my obligations.
- I will follow and implement Elastic best practices.
- I will ensure appropriate monitoring and alerting of Elasticsearch.
Description
In the ElasticSearch Systems Engineer role, I will provide support across an Agile team in a DevSecOps environment and a large enterprise ElasticSearch deployment. My role will necessitate design, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting support in Elastic environments both in the cloud (AWS) and on-premises.
While subject to change based on business needs, I anticipate that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days, with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date.
The pay range for this position is approximately $144,300.00 - $260,850.00. This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreements, or other laws.
