Requirements
Must:
- I require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience (8+ years recommended).
- I expect a working knowledge of mainframe, midrange, and microcomputer networking strategies, environments, equipment, development tools, and methodologies.
- You should be familiar with mainframe or midrange operating systems such as UNIX, Linux, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Novell NetWare.
- Project management experience is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills are a must.
- I value patience and strong customer service skills.
- The ability to multitask and manage time effectively is important.
- Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are crucial.
- You should have 8+ years of progressive responsibility in an information systems environment with technical experience in one or more of the following areas: system maintenance and support, database administration, operating system configuration, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and software implementation and support.
- Certifications such as Certified Netware Engineer, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Unix/Linux certification, or Storage Certification would be a plus.
Responsibilities
- I will expect you to demonstrate requirements gathering and analysis, solution design, development task management, quality assurance, and release management.
- You will need to have a working knowledge of ServiceNow core architecture, especially modules like Service Catalog, Incident/Change/Problem Management, Asset Management, CMDB, Knowledge Management, Project Portfolio Management, and Self-Service Portal.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party tools is essential.
- You should effectively analyze problems and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- I need you to work directly with internal (IM) and external clients.
- Collaboration is key; you will work with the team to develop solutions and handle general updates and configuration changes/requests.
- I expect you to identify system deficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions.
- You will ensure that the latest release of the ServiceNow application is implemented in a timely manner with minimal or no disruption.
- It's essential to ensure appropriate tools and processes are in place for a reliable and reproducible development/test/production environment.
- You will work closely with the PMO to ensure appropriate project documentation is prepared for each new initiative or enhancement.
