Requirements
Must:
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 5+ years of working directly within engineering teams
- 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Responsibilities
We are looking for a Software Development Manager for our AWS Shield Anti-DDoS team to help us build new services and enhance our existing ones for our internal and external customers. In this role, you will manage a team dedicated to solving challenging distributed systems problems on a global scale and provide new capabilities to serve our customers worldwide. You will collaborate closely with teams including Threat Research, Security, Operations, Networking, and Product to identify opportunities for launching new features and improving our defenses against DDoS attacks. You will oversee the operation of our critical telemetry services that underlie traffic routing and DDoS detection platforms, and you will be responsible for the development, evolution, and optimization of these systems to protect our customers against DDoS attacks and other overloading events.
