Must:
We require candidates to possess a DoD TS/SCI Clearance. Additionally, a current security certification in accordance with DoD 8140 is essential, and you should be able to obtain an appropriate computing environment certification within six months. A Bachelor’s degree is expected, along with at least six years of relevant experience in the Cybersecurity ISSO technical/professional realm. However, we will consider additional years of experience and/or certifications in lieu of a degree or prior work experience.
Candidates must have a solid understanding of information security and cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices. Experience in composing RMF package documentation is necessary. You should hold a DoD 8140 security certification and have knowledge of security controls as outlined in DoDI 8510.01 /NIST 800-53, as well as familiarity with the Authority to Operate (ATO) process. Furthermore, you should be well-acquainted with Assessment & Authorization (A&A) security documentation and audits, STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and secure configurations. Relevant experience in identifying vulnerabilities through risk and vulnerability assessments is vital. We expect you to have documented system deficiencies and provided remediation solutions. Familiarity with automated vulnerability scanning tools like Tenable Nessus or similar applications is also required.
A strong desire to learn new technologies and skills relevant to your role as an ISSO is important, along with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. You should be capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities in this position will include performing ISSO duties, which involve establishing and maintaining appropriate security systems, policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with applicable directives, guidelines, and contractual requirements. You will conduct security audits according to government compliance policies per DoDI 8510.01. Additionally, you will carry out risk and vulnerability assessments of both planned and existing information systems to identify vulnerabilities and protection needs across Cisco, Juniper, Windows, and Linux systems.
You will promote security awareness, communicate deficiencies to the ISSM and ISSOs, and recommend programs to ensure systems, networks, and data users understand and follow security policies and procedures. Assessing security events to determine their impact and implementing corrective actions will also be part of your duties. It will be imperative to apply cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices diligently in all IT service deliveries.

Preferred qualifications for this position include experience in securing network topologies, holding certifications such as CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, or similar, and familiarity with Agile methodologies like SCRUM or Kanban. Experience using Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket would be beneficial, along with proficiency in Splunk, Tenable Nessus, SCAP applications, and tools. Additional experience in Linux and Windows administration, as well as user-level experience working with Linux directories and executing scripts, is also advantageous. At Leidos, we are committed to providing a competitive salary, and the pay range for this position is between $85,150.00 and $153,925.00.
