Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in .NET / C# development with a strong focus on performance engineering
- Extensive hands-on expertise with .NET profiling tools such as dotMemory, dotTrace, PerfView, or similar
- In-depth understanding of .NET memory management mechanics, including GC generations and allocation patterns
- Experience optimizing high-throughput data processing pipelines, leveraging async/await and avoiding synchronization bottlenecks
- Proven skills in diagnosing query performance issues in both relational (SQL) and document databases
- Familiarity with diagnostics tools like ETW, EventPipe, and other related tools
- Strong benchmarking practices using BenchmarkDotNet and regression tracking
- Ability to articulate findings clearly to engineering teams
- Deep diagnostic instincts and a specialist mindset with a collaborative approach
- Excellent written communication skills and high sense of ownership
- Comfortable working independently within a distributed team
- (Preferred) Background in using RavenDB or other document databases at scale
- (Preferred) Knowledge of modern low-allocation patterns in .NET
- (Preferred) Experience in financial or revenue platform engineering
- (Preferred) Understanding of performance in distributed systems
Responsibilities
- Profile, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks in .NET services, including memory leaks and I/O saturation
- Manage memory strategies for long-running services, focusing on heap allocation and GC tuning
- Analyze and enhance high-throughput data pipelines, including buffer management and backpressure handling
- Investigate and address performance issues related to large dataset queries, focusing on index usage and pagination
- Establish and maintain a performance benchmarking framework using BenchmarkDotNet
- Conduct performance-oriented code reviews to spot common anti-patterns in .NET
- Partner with product engineers to identify performance constraints during the design phases
- Generate comprehensive diagnostics and findings documentation for broader team understanding
