Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field, or I possess equivalent experience and training.
- I have a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical data roles such as ETL development, data engineering, BI reporting, or similar fields.
- I have strong SQL skills, with practical experience designing and optimizing intricate queries, relational databases, and data models.
- I have a proven track record in building, scaling, and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and data integration frameworks.
- I possess a solid understanding of data architecture concepts, including data modeling, integration patterns, schema design, and storage optimization, and I am capable of collaborating with architects to convert strategy into implementation.
- I am proficient with cloud technologies, specifically AWS services like S3, EC2, EMR, DynamoDB, Aurora, Athena, and Glue, along with familiarity in using platforms such as Snowflake and dbt.
- I have experience with data orchestration and integration tools (such as SSIS, SnapLogic, Kestra, Airflow) and streaming technologies (like Kafka, Spark, Kinesis).
- I understand data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- I possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, allowing me to balance intricate technical details with strategic considerations.
- I am experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic setting.
- I have working knowledge of object-oriented and functional scripting languages (Python, Java, Scala, etc.).
- I demonstrate strong organizational and project management capabilities, prioritizing and aligning technical tasks to business objectives.
- I am comfortable with administrative and technical tasks, efficiently using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing tools (Teams & Zoom), and telephones.
- I am trustworthy and display accountable behavior, with the ability to manage and maintain confidential information daily.
Responsibilities
- I am responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing robust data pipelines and related data services to guarantee scalability, reliability, and performance.
- I partner with data, analytics, and design teams to identify scalable data solutions and support evolving business needs; I contribute to discussions regarding data architecture and design choices to align with the long-term enterprise data strategy.
- I provide insights into data modeling, integration design, and data lifecycle management to ensure compliance with best practices in data governance, metadata management, and security.
- I collaborate across the organization to incorporate data quality, lineage, and stewardship principles into engineering and delivery processes.
- I mentor colleagues, share best practices, and promote continuous enhancement in data engineering standards, automation, and architectural awareness within the team.
- I undertake any other duties as assigned.
