Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in real-time network conditions monitoring and support improvement efforts for performance and reporting
- Proficiency with Cisco routing and switching platforms within an enterprise setting
- Extensive knowledge in the operation, deployment, and monitoring of network protocols such as VoIP, SNMP, NetFlow, HSRP, Spanning Tree, QoS/CoS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, NAT/PAT, NTP, RADIUS, DNS, and DHCP (10+ years)
- Familiarity with various 802.11 wireless network standards as well as wireless security mechanisms, design principles, RF technology, and control systems, with an emphasis on Aruba and Cisco (7+ years)
- Expertise in designing and deploying resilient, high-speed enterprise network segments, both wired and wireless (7+ years)
- Proficient in using wireless network planning and survey tools such as AirMagnet, Ekahau, and Tamograph Site Survey (7+ years)
- Experience with Wireshark packet analyzer for diagnosing network performance issues (7+ years)
- Solid understanding of WAN carrier technologies including MPLS, DMVPN, IPsec, T-1, OC-3, SONET, and High-Speed Internet (10+ years)
- Knowledge of LAN technologies like Gigabit Ethernet, PoE, link aggregation, CDP, ARP, VLANs, and trunking (10+ years)
- Working knowledge of ATM protocols, particularly AAL1 and AAL2 technologies (3+ years), with preferred knowledge of GDC product lines including DV2 generation equipment (3+ years)
- Understanding of basic power distribution and protection systems (10+ years)
- Experience in developing network staff training materials, network diagrams using Microsoft Visio, and comprehensive documentation (5+ years)
- Hands-on experience with network management systems (5+ years)
Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to real-time network conditions while leading enhancement initiatives for performance and reporting
- Configure and manage Cisco routing and switching platforms in a corporate environment
- Apply in-depth knowledge of various network protocols for effective deployment and monitoring
- Design and implement resilient, high-speed enterprise networks including both wired and wireless segments
- Utilize advanced planning and survey tools for wireless network assessments
- Analyze network performance using Wireshark to identify and resolve issues
- Work with WAN technologies to ensure efficient data transmission and connectivity
- Manage and optimize LAN technologies to support organizational needs
- Develop and maintain training materials and documentation for network staff
- Engage with network management systems to oversee and enhance network operations
