Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Granicus govAccess or a comparable enterprise-level government CMS.
- Familiarity with Nevada-specific election procedures, including the Effective Absentee System for Elections (EASE) and Voter Roll Maintenance protocols.
- Proven ability to manage content in compliance with Nevada State Web Style Standards and federal ADA regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in managing critical candidate dates and disclosure reporting to avoid legal implications.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a strong grasp of user research, interaction design, and visual design principles.
Responsibilities
- Implement prompt updates for the 2026 Election Cycle, including candidate filing locations, voter registration deadlines, and polling place information.
- Conduct hands-on configuration and content entry using Granicus govAccess CMS, ensuring all pages follow standard Nevada government templates.
- Act as a liaison to translate complex legislative updates and election regulations from the Elections Division into accessible web content for voters.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and maintain information availability in essential languages, including Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean.
- Oversee content updates related to Project Orion (the new Business Licensing Portal) to ensure a smooth user experience across the main site and specialized applications.
Description
We are seeking a Digital Content Specialist to play a vital role in implementing updates for the Nevada Secretary of States elections Portal. This position entails critical collaboration with our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from various divisions to guarantee the public receives timely and accurate election-related information. The role is based in Carson City, NV, with an on-site requirement of 40%, predominantly on Mondays and Tuesdays, but may adjust as needed. This is a 1099 contract position paying $70 per hour, running from May 2026 through June 2027.
