Requirements
Must:
- 8 years of experience in distributed systems or data platform.
- Established capacity to design and implement critical systems that create significant impact.
- Proficiency in Java/Python, CI/CD, and containerized environments.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Kafka/Flink, Spark, Delta/Iceberg, Kubernetes, and NoSQL/columnar stores.
- Knowledge of both streaming and batch data platforms.
- A solid understanding of algorithms and distributed design.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver key components of eBay’s Data Platforms, overseeing everything from design to production rollout.
- Design and refine distributed systems that power data ingestion, streaming, lakehouse/warehouse, cataloging, and governance.
- Contribute to long-term architecture through design reviews and creation of architecture documents, ensuring systems are scalable and resilient.
- Build systems that effectively balance latency, correctness, and cost while maintaining security and compliance.
- Drive operational excellence for the services you manage, including observability and incident response.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and analytics teams to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Expand your knowledge and skills in areas such as governance, orchestration, and privacy engineering.
