Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5-8 years of experience in retail operations, accounting, banking, or related sectors.
- Preferred: 3-5 years of direct experience in customer payments.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to promote teamwork and build collaborative relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comfortable working in a rapid, dynamic environment.
- Eagerness to learn new systems and processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities
- Execute all responsibilities of the Customer Payments Analyst with precision and confidence.
- Assist with new business setups and modifications involving external vendors.
- Lead user acceptance and certification testing with Retail IT for system upgrades, ensuring compliance with operational standards while enhancing customer experience.
- Supervise the reprocessing of unrecorded sales to maximize revenue.
- Support Customer Payment Analysts in the absence of the Customer Payment Manager or Director.
- Collaborate with the Customer Payment Manager to train new team members as required.
- Generate and uphold analytical reports on payment volumes and acceptance costs.
- Handle cardholder disputes and utilize fraud prevention tools to reduce financial risks from chargebacks, reporting losses and savings achieved through fraud mitigation activities.
- Assist customer service center representatives on third-party portals for transaction inquiries, acting as the escalation point for customer payment-related issues.
- Collaborate with the IT Escalations Team regarding payment concerns reported by retail locations or internally within the Customer Payments Team.
- Work with the Retail Asset Protection Team to address potential fraudulent payment activities and prepare ad-hoc reports to support investigations.
- Lead projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiency related to payment systems.
