Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related Technology field, or equivalent experience through a combination of education and/or technology experience, or 12 years of technology experience.
- 7 years of experience identifying technical solutions for complex business problems, assessing the benefits and risks of these solutions, and providing recommendations.
- 6 years of technology experience.
- 5 years of experience mentoring other technologists.
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Candidates must have indefinite employment authorization.
- Preferred: Strong hands-on Messaging & Integration Technology integration/development/implementation experience, experience with IBM MQ, Active MQ, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, and IBM ACE. AWS Certification is preferred. Expert knowledge in Finance/Fintech/Middleware/Messaging is beneficial.
Responsibilities
As a Principal Engineer, I will be responsible for leading the execution of key initiatives within the API SIP & Messaging Delivery function. My role will involve optimizing and leading messaging platform engineering and architecture solutions to enhance capability, reliability, scalability, and compliance, all while aligning with our business objectives. I will develop PaaS solutions, define networking requirements, perform detailed analysis of various projects and requests, and develop designs for projects of medium to high complexity. Additionally, I will ensure that all deliverables align with our overarching organizational strategy.
I will work closely with business units, application teams, infrastructure areas, and vendors to identify, review, and evaluate solution requirements. I will investigate strategic fits for virtualization, consolidation, and rationalization within our infrastructure or business. I will provide client consulting and planning guidance for highly complex projects, participate in consulting project teams on architectural design, and offer consultation to ensure initiatives align with our established strategies. Moreover, I will assess project opportunities, map requirements into standard service solutions, and conduct cost value, feasibility, and risk analyses.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined, I will review, develop, and update architectural standards, guiding principles, and strategies. I will evaluate and approve highly complex design solutions related to business and infrastructure projects or initiatives.
