Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or a related field
- 4 years of relevant experience, including military service, accepted in place of a bachelors degree
- Valid drivers license in your state of residence
- 2+ years of experience in electro-mechanical, electronic, or computer fields with a degree
- 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree in relevant fields
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of biomedical, mechanical, electrical, or vacuum systems is highly preferred
- Proven ability to work independently, managing schedules, customer expectations, and communications effectively
- Prior field service experience is preferred
- Familiarity with host/remote communication and network systems is a plus
- Knowledge of laboratory operational principles and practices is desirable
Responsibilities
- Manage customer service and technical execution by responding promptly to needs and performing installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure equipment meets specifications
- Build strong relationships with clients, promote service agreements, and identify cross-functional sales opportunities
- Collaborate with service and support teams to drive revenue through billable services like preventive maintenance and equipment relocation
- Attend product training for 6-9 weeks at our Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year
- Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled customer visits, including overnight stays for expansive territories and potential national travel
- Participate in a weekend/holiday on-call rotation every 5 weeks, necessitating local availability and possible national travel for instrument support
- Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and training documentation promptly and accurately
- Maintain a current calendar of availability and submit travel expense reports regularly
- Adhere to all company policies regarding vehicle use and maintenance
- Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure all assigned tools and equipment remain in good condition and compliant with our policies
- Commit to ongoing professional development to enhance technical and interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with sales teams to improve customer satisfaction
- Represent bioMerieux at trade shows and enhance service capabilities by providing feedback to relevant departments
