Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or a related field.
- 4 years of relevant experience, including military service, can substitute for a bachelors degree.
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license in the state of residence.
- 2+ years of related expertise with a degree in complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, or electrical systems.
- 6+ years of related experience may substitute for a degree in the same fields.
- Preferred experience in troubleshooting and repair of biomedical, mechanical, or electrical systems.
- Preferred experience in a field service capacity, including independent management of schedules and customer relations.
- Proficient understanding of host/remote communication and network systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory operation principles and practices is a plus.
- Strong critical thinking, adaptability, time management, communication, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service and technical support by responding swiftly to client needs and performing installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
- Cultivate relationships with customers, promote service agreements, and pinpoint sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with service and support teams to enhance teamwork while driving field service revenue through billable offerings.
- Attend necessary training sessions (6-9 weeks) at designated locations within the first year, with further training as required.
- Undertake scheduled and unscheduled customer visits, including potential overnight stays for extensive territories.
- Participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotation, providing local phone support and potential national travel for instrument assistance.
- Complete service work orders, quality assurance checklists, and comply with internal training requirements in a timely manner.
- Keep an updated calendar for availability and submit travel expense reports regularly to avoid penalties.
- Adhere to company policies regarding the maintenance and use of the assigned fleet vehicle.
- Manage spare parts inventory, company vehicle, and assigned equipment effectively, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, enhancing both technical and interpersonal skills while aligning with annual priorities.
