Requirements
Must:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Over 2 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, preferably in an educational environment
- Hands-on experience managing Google Workspace and Chrome OS devices
- Proficient with Google Admin Console and Chrome Management Console
- Familiar with Apple products and Mac support
- Knowledgeable in device imaging, policy configuration, and remote management tools
- Understanding of network connectivity, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and endpoint security best practices
- Experience with web-based applications and learning management systems (LMS)
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organization and documentation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service orientation with patience and professionalism
- Google Certified IT Support Professional or Google Certified Administrator (preferred)
- Experience with large-scale Chromebook deployments (preferred)
- Familiarity with content filtering tools and device compliance reporting (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the Google Chrome Management Console for all GDC/GCI devices and users, including Gmail, Calendar, Groups, Shared Mailboxes, Google Sites, and related policies and account management
- Utilize data from the Admin Console to monitor all aspects of the Google Workspace domain
- Track major metrics, including usage, user status, storage, security, and file sharing
- Manage and oversee sync tools and schedules to ensure appropriate logging, email alerts, and reporting for all activities
- Configure, deploy, and update Chromebooks, extensions, and educational applications
- Enforce device and user policies, including content filters, sign-in restrictions, and security settings
- Provide tier 1-2 technical support to educators regarding Chrome OS and Google Workspace for Education
- Diagnose hardware, software, and connectivity issues related to Chrome devices
- Collaborate with instructional technology teams to ensure digital learning tools are compatible
- Maintain accurate inventory of Chrome devices and peripherals
- Document support procedures, user guides, and troubleshooting steps
- Analyze support trends to propose enhancements in device management and user experience
- Monitor system performance, updates, and security compliance within the Chrome environment
Description
We are seeking a Google Workspace Engineer to join our team in Forsyth, GA, in a hybrid work setting. This role provides a unique opportunity to manage and administer Google Workspace tools while ensuring excellent support for our educators. We offer a dynamic work environment and encourage collaboration with fellow professionals in instructional technology. The position may require travel throughout Georgia and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs, including visits to secure settings.
