Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture with a concentration on application architecture.
- Proficiency in creating application blueprints, modular designs, and integration patterns.
- Practical coding experience in popular programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js, Angular, Swift).
- Capability to devise end-to-end solutions that conform to enterprise standards while ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Familiarity with major cloud services and architecture frameworks.
- Comprehensive understanding of application technologies, including their benefits, drawbacks, and suitable use cases.
- Experience in leading substantial application refactoring or re-platforming initiatives (e.g., transitioning from monolith to microservices, migrating from on-premises to cloud, etc.).
- Knowledge of distributed systems, containerization, service mesh, and domain decomposition.
- Experience with security-by-design methodologies (like authentication, authorization, OWASP standards, threat modeling, etc.).
- Strong grasp of data modeling, data flows, metadata management, and governance.
- Wide-ranging experience across technology stacks (cloud, distributed systems, mobile, SaaS, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices, GitOps, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Ability to provide impartial technology recommendations based on context rather than personal bias.
- Knowledge of TOGAF and other industry frameworks.
- Understanding of software development methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, accompanied by 8+ years of relevant experience (or a suitable equivalent of education and experience).
Responsibilities
- Define and oversee solution architecture to meet business and organizational objectives.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into both functional and non-functional specifications.
- Document and review architectural designs through established governance processes.
- Create and sustain application architecture patterns, guidelines, and technology records.
- Gather and assess application requirements, including objectives, functionalities, and user expectations.
- Formulate application architectures that meet these requirements while collaborating with peers on solution strategies (COTS, SaaS, PaaS, custom).
- Lay out high-level application structures, major components, technologies, and interaction models.
- Ensure alignment between solution architectures and the overarching enterprise architecture framework.
- Review and validate enterprise architecture artifacts, such as reference models, patterns, and solution designs.
- Collaborate with enterprise, data, and infrastructure architects to ensure integrated end-to-end architecture.
- Evaluate tools, platforms, frameworks, and third-party solutions.
- Contribute to Lean Portfolio management and Agile Release trains in the Solution Architect role.
- Partner with the EA team to maintain architectural standards, guidelines, and processes.
- Provide architectural guidance for new or significant technology proposals.
- Raise awareness of cross-functional activities, architectural patterns, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Develop and advocate roadmaps and long-term strategies for application modernization and pattern adoption.
- Work closely with business leaders, product owners, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions with business objectives.
