Requirements
Must:
- 6+ years of experience in engineering or related fields
- Proven hands-on experience managing and supporting enterprise application platforms, such as Red Hat EAP, Red Hat JWS, IBM WebSphere, IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW), and Microsoft IIS
- Professional proficiency in at least one primary programming language, framework, or infrastructure area (preferred: Python, Java, Containers, Cloud)
- Supervisory or managerial experience is necessary
- Experience in project management and modernization projects
- Advanced understanding of the DevOps lifecycle with solid knowledge in at least one specific area
- Familiarity with automation through CI/CD pipelines
- Strong project and time management, teamwork, and communication skills
- Ability to make independent decisions, prioritize tasks, and perform under pressure
- Proven skills in identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline
- A combination of education and experience may fulfill requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee engineering teams in creating, developing, and executing infrastructure projects using contemporary engineering practices (IaC)
- Steer the team towards cloud methodologies and cloud-centric infrastructure solutions
- Serve as a player-coach, offering both leadership and practical technical support
- Manage modernization initiatives employing Python, Containers, Cloud, and Java technologies
- Act as the primary point of contact for projects that necessitate technical resources
- Organize, coordinate, and oversee infrastructure and software development activities as per the PMO Project Delivery Process (SDLC)
- Develop and oversee departmental budgets while ensuring compliance with financial protocols and timelines
- Guarantee safety, soundness, and compliance of developed products in line with internal guidelines and regulations
- Remain updated on industry best practices and provide expert guidance on engineering standards
- Assess project results, identify challenges, and propose corrective measures as necessary
- Oversee hiring, performance management, and development of team members
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
