Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, or experience
- Over 15 years of experience in technology testing
- In-depth expertise in specialized areas and comprehensive understanding of related disciplines
- Expert-level technical skills with various software tools
- Extensive knowledge of relevant testing tools based on project specifications
- Proficient understanding of different database types and SQL skills for querying test-related databases
- Advanced knowledge of Test System Management tools such as Azure Boards, Azure Test Plans, and Micro Focus
- In-depth expertise in Microfocus test automation framework components including Micro Focus UFT and BlueZone
- Fundamental knowledge of VBScript and/or Java programming aligned with project tasks
- Advanced familiarity with Test Automation Low Code Framework components including Gherkin, Cucumber, and Selenium
- Proficient knowledge of API testing using Postman Pro
- Strong understanding of systems and environments, including mainframe and cloud-hosted applications
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of testing processes including test plan creation and bug reporting
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Significant experience in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
- Capable of independent work as well as effective teamwork
- Familiarity with Systems Development Life Cycles
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Skilled in communicating effectively across all organizational levels
- Consistent attention to detail and accuracy in meeting deadlines
- Proficient in presenting findings, alternatives, and information clearly
- Strong initiative and sound decision-making skills
- Extensive experience in an IT environment
- Expert knowledge of business processes and applications
- ISTQB Foundation level certification (CTFL)
- DevOps Institute DevOps Foundation (DOFD) certification
- ISTQB Advanced level certifications (e.g., Agile Tester, Test Analyst, Test Manager)
- ISTQB Test Automation Engineer Azure DevOps AZ-900 certification is desirable
- Scaled Agile Framework – Leading SAFe certification is desirable
Responsibilities
- Develop test plan documents for highly complex systems using established test standards and templates
- Analyze and interpret results, providing recommendations and assessing potential risks for complex systems
- Ensure effective communication of progress, test documentation, and defect reporting to facilitate understanding of testing activities
- Oversee testing processes during the System Integration Testing phase for intricate systems
- Engage in System Development Life Cycle activities applying SAFe Agile methodologies
- Assist in the assessment and estimation for complex projects and changes
- Act as a subject matter expert and mentor to colleagues
- Create and/or modify manual test cases and scripts for complex systems using approved testing tools
- Design highly complex test cases with automation in mind, adhering to established standards
- Execute and manage existing highly complex automated test scripts
- Troubleshoot and update automation test cases in response to errors
- Develop automation parameterization files and utilize XPath tools to address web element issues
- Create and implement test automation using DevSecOps practices
- Ensure test automation complies with audit requirements and integrates necessary artifacts into Azure DevOps
- Produce all required documentation following testing standards and templates
- Document defects and adhere to established defect lifecycle procedures
- Conduct root cause analysis for identified defects, providing detailed insights for resolution
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are communicated and met
- Analyze changes in policies or procedures and their impacts on testing
- Identify potential process, data, or technology improvements and offer recommendations
- Contribute to project and product team meetings, maintaining focus on objectives and goals

This hybrid role requires 3 days a week onsite in Vienna, VA, and offers flexibility with 2 days remote work.
