Requirements

Must:
We require candidates to have 3-4 years of professional software engineering experience. Proficiency in backend development, particularly with Python and Django (or similar frameworks such as Rails, Flask, or FastAPI), is essential. For frontend development, experience with React (or similar frameworks like Vue or Angular) is a must. Familiarity with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, is also necessary. Candidates should possess the capability to utilize AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality. Proficiency in Git and familiarity with collaborative development workflows are important. Strong problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities are crucial, especially when it comes to explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. We also seek self-motivated individuals who can work independently and take ownership of tasks in a small team environment. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are vital attributes.

Responsibilities

In this role, I will engage in full-stack feature development, designing, developing, and deploying features across our Django REST API backend and React frontend. I will also be responsible for maintaining and improving existing systems, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance to ensure dependable daily operations. My responsibilities will include writing and maintaining automated tests, conducting code reviews, and upholding high code quality standards before deployment. Collaboration with the Engineering Manager and team members will be key to defining work and ensuring project delivery on schedule. I will analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that enhance workflows for construction teams, warranty services, and homeowner support. Additionally, I will maintain clear technical documentation for systems and features to facilitate knowledge sharing, and I will continuously seek industry best practices to recommend improvements to our technology stack and development processes. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Description

While experience with Docker, Redis, or Celery is preferred, familiarity with real-time systems (such as WebSockets) and a background in applying software solutions to real-world business challenges would be advantageous. An interest in the construction or real estate industry is also a plus. This is a full-time position with an annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $95,000. Benefits include dental, health, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off. The work location is in-person.
