Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field is mandatory.
- Minimum of six (6) years of extensive experience in network engineering is essential.
- Relevant and applicable experience may be considered in place of formal educational prerequisites.
- Proven experience collaborating with vendors and partners for product evaluations and solution implementations.
- Familiarity with Network Access Control and Software Defined Networks is preferred.
- Experience in establishing network designs and documenting network standards and best practices is advantageous.
- Knowledge of network providers such as Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)/Aruba, and Meraki is preferred.
- Experience with Network Load Balancers is considered a plus.
- Technical support experience within environments that utilize gaming systems is desirable.
- Strong collaborative, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail, are necessary.
- Exceptional technical leadership and decision-making capabilities, along with the ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines, are required.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for technical support and incident resolution is required.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead during the creation and implementation of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless local-area networks (WLAN), software-defined networking (SDN), and other communication systems as needed.
- Work in partnership with vendors to define upgrade plans and lifecycle management for network systems and tools.
- Provide solutions for intricate network challenges including routing, switching, and firewalls in a timely manner.
- Aid in shaping strategies for integrating new software into the network.
- Spearhead the development of documentation standards for network configurations, mappings, processes, and service records, adhering to network best practices.
- Handle the troubleshooting, resolution, and communication of daily network issues.
- Oversee network monitoring, alerting, and analytical platforms for the respective network systems.
- Assist in defining strategies for monitoring, analytics, and alerting within network systems.
- Ensure proactive monitoring and performance validation of network and communication systems.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to support the efficient operation of the department.
