Requirements
Must:
- Strong expertise in Thruput Manager software architecture and batch routing techniques for customer solutions.
- Proven experience in collecting, processing, and analyzing SMF data for performance and capacity support.
- Proficiency in MXG and SAS PDB processing.
- Advanced SAS programming skills on open system platforms.
- Skilled in managing applications on Linux (preferably SAS/MXG applications).
- Proficient in Linux BASH scripting.
- Extensive experience in managing and developing SAS and MXG on Linux.
- Familiarity with performance and tuning tools like RMF, Omegamon, TEPS, and Intellimagic.
- Knowledgeable in WLM policy architecture and administration.
- Background in system programming with an understanding of mainframe architecture along with capacity and performance support.
- In-depth understanding of statistical analysis using SMF data.
- Experience in visual communication to emphasize key analysis findings, problem resolutions, and aligning technical/business requirements to propose solutions and recommendations to stakeholders and senior IT managers.
- Ability to convert business objectives into resource usage criteria aligned with management guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and negotiate effectively with customers, ensuring adherence to business functions and guidelines set by our capacity and performance management group.
Responsibilities
- Analyze capacity and performance metrics to provide actionable insights for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies for performance tuning and optimization of applications.
- Gather and interpret data from SMF and other performance management tools to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with team members to address performance issues and implement solutions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at various levels.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant software, tools, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to performance management policies and procedures.
- Participate in meetings to discuss and refine performance goals and objectives.
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices in performance management.
