Requirements
Must:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models in enterprise settings
- Extensive expertise in business intelligence, data visualization, KPI development, and reporting strategies
- Advanced skills in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, relationships, measures, calculated columns, and performance tuning
- Proficient in SQL with the capability to query, analyze, and validate data across relational databases and sizable datasets
- Strong grasp of datasets, underlying database structures, and how source data contributes to reporting and analytics
- Experience with BI pipelines, data refresh procedures, and reporting dependencies across source systems and downstream dashboards
- Proven ability to gather requirements from business stakeholders and convert them into scalable BI solutions
- In-depth knowledge of reporting best practices, data governance, usability, and dashboard design standards
- Experience troubleshooting data, report, refresh, and performance issues across BI solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to business and leadership audiences
- Preferred: experience collaborating with data engineering teams on data pipelines, source data preparation, and reporting architecture
- Preferred: familiarity with row-level security, deployment pipelines, workspace management, gateway configuration, and refresh strategies in Power BI
- Preferred: experience creating executive dashboards, operational reports, and self-service reporting solutions
- Preferred: mentoring junior team members to establish BI standards, reusable assets, and delivery best practices
- Preferred: experience with Azure-based data platforms, Azure SQL, or Microsoft Fabric
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Power BI dashboards, scorecards, reports, and visual analytics solutions
- Build and optimize semantic models that support consistent, scalable, and high-performance reporting across the organization
- Convert complex business needs into intuitive and actionable visualizations for executives, operational teams, and client stakeholders
- Collaborate with data engineering resources to ensure reporting data is well-structured, validated, and optimized for analytics use
- Develop DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and data models that support effective KPI tracking and business analysis
- Exhibit a deep understanding of datasets, source system relationships, underlying databases, and BI pipeline dependencies that underpin reporting solutions
- Enhance report performance, data refresh reliability, and the overall user experience across Power BI solutions
- Establish and enforce BI development standards concerning naming conventions, design consistency, documentation, governance, and quality control
- Aid in data validation and reporting accuracy by identifying issues, troubleshooting root causes, and coordinating resolution across teams
- Provide guidance and leadership to junior and mid-level technical staff involved in reporting, analytics, and data visualization initiatives
- Document reporting logic, model structures, technical procedures, and development standards to ensure long-term sustainability
- Work closely with cross-functional business and technical teams to align reporting capabilities with operational goals and strategic objectives
- Identify opportunities to modernize reporting processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance data accessibility and decision support
- Contribute to the advancement of our business intelligence capabilities, standards, and delivery methodology
- Promote best practices in dashboard usability, report performance, governance, and stakeholder engagement
