Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or GED is necessary.
- CPR and AED certification is essential (to be obtained within the first 60 days of employment).
- Activities certification is preferred.
- A bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field is desirable.
- Strong command of English in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
- Ability to comply with attendance and punctuality standards.
- Proficiency in various software applications and office equipment.
- Capability to follow directions accurately.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Design, promote, and lead spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and emotional activities and programs aligned with the Weller lifestyle for a diverse resident demographic.
- Engage residents through structured activities and casual interactions focused on their interests and aspirations.
- Assess and monitor residents interests, hobbies, and needs; continually refresh and adapt programming activities to maintain variety and engagement.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with local organizations, NGOs, educational institutions, and others to create volunteer opportunities and welcome external talents into our community.
- Produce and distribute various professional written materials to highlight programs, educate residents and families, and showcase Weller Life community examples.
- Evaluate resident participation in programs to assess their popularity and enhance engagement; make adjustments to the event calendar as needed.
- Stay updated on active aging and generational trends to continually improve Weller Life initiatives; share insights with colleagues and support professional growth within the community.
- Share successful activity frameworks with the team and take part in best practices discussions.
- Collaborate with staff, residents, and home office personnel to offer engaging orientation and training programs.
- Potentially contribute to the award-winning WAVES pool program.
- Possibly facilitate family support groups.
- Attend all scheduled training and educational sessions.
- Input assessments into company software as necessary.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
