Requirements
Must:
- Active Secret clearance is a necessity.
- Security+ or a comparable DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification is required.
- Proven experience in supporting Department of Defense network environments, including classified networks.
- Background in conducting or assisting with classified network builds, migrations, or secure modernization efforts.
- Comprehensive understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, trunking, subnetting, ACLs, firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and enterprise network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and associated technologies.
- Experience with applying, reviewing, or fixing DISA STIGs for network devices.
- Involvement in supporting CORA, cybersecurity inspections, audits, compliance reviews, or technical readiness assessments.
- Proficient in creating accurate and professional network documentation for customer settings.
- Preferred CCNA or higher certification; desirable experience with Cisco ISE, Palo Alto firewalls, ACAS/Nessus, STIG Viewer, RMF, or DoD compliance workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and maintain both classified and unclassified Department of Defense network environments.
- Carry out network assessments, audits, and technical reviews in support of Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments (CORA) and other inspection or readiness initiatives.
- Validate and remediate network device configurations to ensure adherence to DISA STIGs, C2C standards, and customer security requirements.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and oversee Cisco routing and switching infrastructure across various customer sites.
- Administer Cisco ISE, focusing on authentication, authorization, network access control, TACACS+, RADIUS, and related policy enforcement tasks.
- Configure, evaluate, and debug Palo Alto firewall policies, zones, NAT rules, access controls, and security setups.
- Detect network vulnerabilities, configuration shortfalls, documentation gaps, and operational risks; suggest and implement corrective measures.
- Evaluate network infrastructure and devices against DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and assist with NIST SP 800-53 security control assessments.
- Produce and maintain thorough network documentation, covering diagrams, IP address plans, port maps, device inventories, rack layouts, configuration baselines, and site-specific procedures.
- Collaborate directly with government clients, cybersecurity teams, system administrators, and other technical stakeholders to resolve network and compliance challenges.
- Facilitate change management, configuration management, vulnerability remediation, and technical reporting about network infrastructure.
Description
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to play a vital role in supporting our Department of Defense customers with classified network builds, cybersecurity preparedness, network audits, and compliance-focused engineering. This role involves secure network design, implementation, assessment, enhancement, troubleshooting, and comprehensive documentation across various classified and unclassified environments. The position may require up to 50% travel, and we prefer candidates located in, or willing to relocate to, the MA, RI, CT area. We offer competitive pay ranging from $150,000.00 to $200,000.00 per year along with benefits such as a 401(k), matching contributions, and paid time off.
