Requirements

Must:
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role for developers. - Hands-on experience in POS systems, restaurant technology, or payment/fintech sectors; familiarity with transaction lifecycles and payment gateways is essential. - Extensive knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, having built and maintained real-world services. - Documented success in enhancing team code quality through testing practices, code review standards, or CI/CD improvements. - Proficient in relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling. - Understanding of the card payment ecosystem, covering payment gateways, EMV basics, and PCI compliance fundamentals. - Valid US work authorization with no sponsorship available, must be able to work in-office in Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities

- Write backend services, APIs, and integrations in Java/Spring Boot, dedicating 60-70% of your time to coding. - Review all pull requests before merging, providing constructive feedback rather than just approval. - Collaborate with junior developers to troubleshoot issues, such as payment integrations. - Proactively identify technical risks and communicate them to the Product Manager before they escalate. - Design the implementation strategy for split payments to ensure a smooth order lifecycle before development begins. - Conduct 15-minute bug triage sessions to diagnose issues impacting settlement reports for multiple merchants.
