- A High School diploma or equivalent, preferably with experience in a hotel or related field.
- A minimum of one year of progressive experience in hospitality is preferred.
- Background in trade school or college coursework in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Flexibility with work hours is sometimes necessary.
- Capability to lift heavy loads; exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, and/or over 50 pounds frequently, and/or over 20 pounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact positively with all employees and guests.
- Strong listening skills to understand and address concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental tasks to meet deadlines.
- A service-oriented approach in all interactions with guests and employees.
- Regular attendance is required in line with Highgate Hotel Standards, adapting to the hotels needs.
- High standards of personal appearance and grooming must be upheld, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
- A proactive attitude towards productivity and problem-solving.
- Ability to understand and process complex information from various sources.

Responsibilities
- I ensure that the hotels air conditioning system is repaired and maintained, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- I perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, such as boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
- I take required readings on equipment and monitor cooling tower performance.
- I handle the replacement and programming of televisions when needed.
- I replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- I take on furniture repairs as necessary.
- I replace and repair pumps, and perform plumbing repairs like unclogging drains and changing fittings.
- I read blueprints and wiring diagrams to assist in troubleshooting issues.
- I repair various water lines and kitchen equipment.
- I maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
- I ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes.
- I test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
- I paint designated areas and repair sheetrock and wall coverings.
- I manage the repair and programming of the hotels electronic lock system.
