Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field (or possess equivalent work experience).
- I have 2-5 years of experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role, preferably within the insurance or financial services sectors.
- I am proficient in Power BI, including creating dashboards, data modeling, DAX, and managing data refresh schedules.
- I possess strong SQL skills and have experience working with relational databases.
- I demonstrate solid analytical and problem-solving abilities and am comfortable handling large and complex datasets.
- I have a good understanding of business functions and can partner effectively with underwriting, claims, finance, and operations stakeholders.
- I possess excellent communication and presentation skills, allowing me to translate technical findings into actionable business insights.
- I am detail-oriented and capable of ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data.
Responsibilities
- I will develop, maintain, and enhance interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to support key business functions, including underwriting performance, claims and marketing trends, loss ratios, expense analysis, and policyholder reporting.
- I will extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various internal sources, such as policy systems, claims systems, marketing, and ERP/finance, into analytical datasets.
- I will write and optimize SQL queries (or equivalent) to support reporting and analytical tasks.
- I will ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity by identifying anomalies and collaborating with data and IT teams to resolve issues.
- I will engage with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, translate these needs into technical requirements, and provide actionable insights that foster data-driven decision-making.
- I will create and adapt KPI frameworks and metrics, such as combined ratio, claim frequency/severity, and retention/renewal rates.
- I will present my findings clearly and compellingly to non-technical audiences to support decision-making activities across departments.
- I will conduct ad hoc analyses, including trend analysis, segmentation, benchmarking, and scenario modeling.
- I will document data definitions, metadata, and maintain documentation that includes training materials for users on dashboards and analytics tools.
