Requirements
Must:
We are seeking a candidate who meets the following qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows 10/11 desktop environments.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365/Exchange Online.
- An understanding of basic networking concepts, such as switches, VLANs, IP addressing, and cabling.
- Previous experience supporting manufacturing or industrial IT systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across production, engineering, and office teams.
- Proven capability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure during production-critical incidents.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to nearby facilities when necessary.
- CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will be responsible for:
- Responding to IT service requests via phone, email, or a ticketing system, ensuring prompt and courteous resolution of issues.
- Acting as the escalation point for Level 1 Technicians to address complex hardware, software, and network problems.
- Setting up and provisioning new users, including PC imaging, account creation, and access permissions.
- Supporting manufacturing-floor technology, such as MES terminals, label printers, barcode scanners, and production computers.
- Performing on-site troubleshooting and hardware replacement when remote tools aren’t sufficient.
- Administering user and group accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365, managing permissions and security.
- Conducting basic network diagnostics and collaborating with senior IT staff on advanced issues.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on workstations, printers, and plant-floor equipment to reduce downtime.
- Assisting with IT infrastructure and improvement projects, including hardware refreshes, upgrades, and network expansion.
- Maintaining accurate inventory of hardware, configuration documentation, and IP assignments.
- Following and enforcing safety, cybersecurity, and data protection standards within the company.
- Providing after-hours or weekend support as needed during maintenance or production emergencies.
- Performing other duties as assigned by management.
