Requirements
Must:
- Must successfully fulfill all pre-employment conditions
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
- CPA designation or a Masters in Taxation is preferable
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a tax department within a public accounting firm or large corporation
- Familiarity with substantial corporate or intricate tax provisions is desirable
- Completion or enrollment in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course is beneficial
- Collaborative team player with strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Office and experience with TaxPrep software
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly tax provisions under US GAAP
- Prepare federal and provincial income tax returns
- Calculate monthly tax installments
- Prepare foreign reporting information returns for international affiliates
- Aid in the preparation of Globe Income Returns
- Prepare and file commodity tax returns
- Support CRA and Provincial Revenue Agency inquiries
- Create working papers to address various CRA / Provincial tax audit queries
- Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and rulings related to international, federal, provincial, and local taxes
- Analyze and draft internal memos and reports on tax implications of business transactions
