Senior Fire Systems Engineer

Requirements
Must:
- Extensive knowledge of Building and Fire Codes, as well as NFPA Codes and Standards
- Proficient in using AutoCAD or Revit
- Over 8 years of experience in fire protection design or consulting
- Bachelors Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or an engineering discipline with relevant experience
- Preferred: Masters Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with fire and smoke modeling tools, such as CFD, PyroSim, Pathfinder
- Experience in codes and standards development, including participation on committees
- Professional Engineer License is preferred
- Expertise in fire testing and the regulatory application of fire test methods
Responsibilities
- Provide fire protection engineering support for capital projects across Disney World Parks and Resorts
- Support facility sustaining engineering initiatives
- Work on a diverse range of facility assets associated with amusement establishments
- Ensure accountability for fire detection and alarm systems, as well as automatic sprinklers
- Oversee water-based fire protection systems, including water supplies and fire pumps
- Manage smoke control and smoke management systems
- Develop strategies for means of egress and emergency movement of crowds in public spaces
- Focus on commercial cooking fire protection and special hazard fire protection systems
- Offer technical support for inspections, testing, and maintenance processes
- Conduct investigation, root cause analysis, and failure analysis
- Design fire protection systems, including calculations, schematics, and submissions
- Review design proposals from project teams to ensure they meet standards and quality requirements
- Recommend enhancements and improvements to current systems
- Collaborate with various Disney business units, engineering teams, and project managers for superior engineering support
