Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in controls engineering
- Proficient in designing fail-safe and safety-related control systems
- In-depth knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
- Strong skills in the installation, integration, and commissioning of industrial control systems
- Comprehensive understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, and EtherCAT
- Familiar with electrical design standards and codes, particularly UL508a and NEC
- Knowledgeable about industry standards in amusement and automation, like ASTM F2291
- Expertise in motor and motion control techniques and components
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for durations ranging from one week to three years
- Capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while coordinating team efforts and prioritizing tasks
Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of control systems for innovative ride systems focusing on electrical and electronic hardware
- Perform engineering design and analysis concentrated on electrical control systems for rides
- Develop architectures for control systems and networks
- Design, model, and analyze electrical supply systems
- Investigate new products, technologies, and methodologies to enhance designs
- Lead a team of ride control engineers while collaborating with other specialists to create effective ride control systems
- Establish requirements and specifications for control equipment
- Develop and execute proof-of-concept mock-ups and prototypes
- Conduct hazard assessments and failure modes and effects analysis
- Oversee vendors, contractors, and consultants involved in developing and implementing ride control systems
- Define and monitor supplier and consultant design and delivery processes
- Ensure all performance and delivery requirements are adequately met
- Carry out factory acceptance tests and manage ride system installations
