Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of experience in engineering related to control of electromechanical systems
- Proficient in designing fail-safe and safety-critical control systems
- In-depth knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
- Extensive skills in the installation, integration, and commissioning of industrial control systems
- Strong understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
- Familiar with electrical design standards and codes, including UL508a and NEC
- Knowledge of amusement and automation industry standards like ASTM F2291
- Expertise in motor and motion control techniques and components
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for durations of 1 week to 3 years
- Capability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while coordinating team efforts and prioritizing tasks
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and delivering control systems for complex, innovative ride systems through programmable, electrical, and electronic hardware
- Execute engineering design and analysis focusing on electrical control systems for rides
- Create control system and network architectures
- Design, model, and evaluate electrical supply systems
- Investigate new products, technologies, and methodologies
- Lead a team of ride control engineers and collaborate with diverse professionals to develop ride control systems
- Establish equipment requirements and specifications for control systems
- Create and implement proof-of-concept mock-ups and prototypes
- Conduct hazard assessments and perform failure modes and effects analysis
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants in developing and implementing ride control systems
- Define and supervise supplier and consultant design and delivery processes
- Ensure compliance with all delivery and performance standards
- Carry out factory acceptance tests and oversee ride system installation
