Principal Backend Software Engineer

- Minimum of 12 years of experience in software engineering focused on creating highly available systems. - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Java. - Experience with data engineering and managing large datasets. - Familiarity with databases, including vector and big data technologies. - Knowledge of distributed computing, containerization (Docker/K8s), and multi-cloud environments. - Proven success in building software systems from the ground up to deployment. - Demonstrated ability to resolve complex business challenges through innovative solutions. - Exceptional problem-solving skills with the capacity to balance long-term ideals against short-term design implications. - Expertise in distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, CI/CD, and best practices for operational excellence. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities, including skills in consensus building and conflict resolution. - History of mentoring engineers in technical challenges and career progression. - Curiosity and a strong capacity for rapidly learning new areas and technologies. - Preferred: Experience with GenAI technologies such as LLMs and RAG, and familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms like GCP Vertex AI or Azure.
