Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Masters preferred
- 15 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
- Proven expertise in building and scaling large distributed systems using Java, Python, or similar technologies
- Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML technologies including LLMs, RAG, vector search, and knowledge bases
- In-depth understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, CI/CD processes, and backend testing frameworks
- Experience collaborating with data science or ML teams to deploy models in a production environment
- Track record of delivering platforms adopted on an enterprise scale by multiple product teams
- Excellent communication skills, strategic mindset, and ability to align diverse stakeholders
- Previous experience in retail, e-commerce, or large-scale consumer products is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of the Sparky Agent AI Platform for conversational and task-oriented agents
- Architect and scale distributed systems supporting advanced technologies like LLMs and agent orchestration
- Define key platform capabilities such as context management, evaluation pipelines, and safety measures
- Drive technical strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and product vision
- Ensure high performance, reliability, accessibility, and security of AI systems
- Deliver production-ready features for various product and experience teams
- Establish best engineering practices, maintain code quality, and enhance operational standards
- Streamline developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
- Facilitate rapid iteration and continuous improvement of models and experiments
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team focused on innovation
- Foster a culture of accountability and learning within the engineering team
- Collaborate with Product and UX teams to create user-friendly, AI-enhanced customer experiences
- Work closely with Applied AI/Data Science teams to optimize and implement models
- Partner with Security, Legal, and Responsible AI teams to ensure ethical AI deployment
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies, frameworks, and trends in AI
- Advocate for experimentation and rapid prototyping to enhance user experiences
- Influence company-wide AI strategy through architectural leadership and platform standardization
