Requirements
Must:
- 9-11 years of experience in data engineering, focusing on designing and constructing data pipelines
- Strong expertise in data engineering tools, including ETL frameworks, big data processing, and SQL and NoSQL databases
- Profound knowledge of database systems, data modeling, and data warehousing
- Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Understanding of data privacy and governance policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Capability to work effectively in a team setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in leading data engineering teams and managing complex projects
- Experience with agile software development methodologies
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and creation of scalable and dependable data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, storage, and retrieval
- Develop data models and schemas that facilitate efficient data storage and analytics, optimizing query performance and scalability
- Utilize big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive) to analyze large datasets and support advanced analytics and machine learning
- Oversee and enhance the data infrastructure, including cloud solutions, containerization, and distributed computing environments
- Collaborate with teams like Data Science, Analytics, and Product to comprehend their data requirements
- Establish and promote best practices for data modeling, storage, and retrieval
- Safeguard the security and privacy of our data while ensuring compliance with pertinent regulations
- Create and maintain documentation for all data processes and systems
- Assess new technologies for data processing and retrieval, recommending enhancements for efficiency and scalability
- Advocate for and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor team members to enhance their technical and leadership abilities
