Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Over 7 years of practical experience in SSD firmware or storage systems
- Proven skills in writing or modifying firmware using C/C++
- In-depth knowledge of SSD firmware architecture and storage protocols (NVMe, SATA)
- Expertise in debugging issues across firmware, hardware, and Linux OS layers
- Experience collaborating with SSD vendors or external suppliers (preferred)
- Familiarity with system integration and validation
- Customer-facing or field support experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Vietnamese is an asset, but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal technical liaison with SSD vendors
- Define and review SSD specifications to fulfill product requirements
- Assess and approve firmware and hardware designs from suppliers
- Lead design discussions, ensuring compliance with system-level requirements
- Configure and activate SSD features to satisfy both product and customer demands
- Tailor SSD behavior via firmware settings and system-level controls
- Conduct system integration testing and validation in Linux environments
- Identify and resolve issues spanning firmware, hardware, and system layers
- Guide root-cause analysis for field and production concerns
- Offer technical support for products deployed at customer locations
- Troubleshoot and rectify SSD-related challenges in production settings
- Collaborate with suppliers to implement fixes and enhancements
- Directly engage with customers to understand their issues and requirements
- Support field escalations and communicate technical solutions effectively
- Willingness to travel as necessary, including trips to the Bay Area and annual visits to Vietnam
