Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 2 years of experience using Unreal Engine (UE4 or UE5)
- A playable project in your portfolio to showcase
- Proficient in gameplay programming using Blueprints and/or C++
- Ability to self-manage and communicate effectively in a remote team setting
- Preference for candidates located in Canada or similar time zones
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with combat systems, animation blueprints, or AI behavior trees
- Experience with Gameplay Ability System (GAS)
- Background in atmospheric or action-oriented game development
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance core gameplay systems in Unreal Engine 5, utilizing Blueprints and/or C++
- Create prototypes and refine game mechanics such as combat, movement, AI, and visual effects triggers
- Implement interactions within the game world, ensuring player feedback and overall gameplay experience are smooth
- Optimize performance for mid-range hardware, including profiling, LOD implementation, and streaming techniques
- Collaborate with art, design, and audio teams in a remote-first, asynchronous work environment
Description
We are building Gothic Hell: Survivors, an extraction roguelike set in a dark and stylized world filled with demonic ruins and vertical combat arenas, using Unreal Engine 5. This part-time contract opportunity allows you to contribute to an original IP alongside a small, experienced team that places a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and creative ownership.
