Requirements
Must:
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- An active CI Polygraph or willingness to obtain one.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 12 years in systems engineering or a relevant area; a Master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience is preferable.
- Proficiency in Commercial Cloud Services (C2S).
- Familiarity with security protocols in classified environments.
- Experience with cloud-based services, ideally AWS, for enterprise applications.
- Cloud administration skills in AWS, including EC2, ELB/ALB, S3, EFS, VPC, AWS CLI, and cloud fundamentals.
- Background in container deployment platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Familiarity with SecDevOps and CI/CD pipeline processes.
- Experience with the Linux operating system.
- Understanding of web services: API, REST.
- Strong knowledge of networking and internet protocols.
- Extensive experience with open-source technologies, software development, and systems engineering.
- Ability to develop basic tools and scripts using UNIX shell, Python, Perl, or similar languages.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripting, preferably using CDK/CloudFormation or configuration management tools like Salt (preferred) or Ansible.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers, domain experts, systems engineers, and architects.
- Strong collaborative skills to work with individuals from diverse disciplines and varying technical backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- I will deploy and troubleshoot cloud initiatives as required, adhering to best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- I will utilize exceptional problem-solving skills to overcome challenges.
- I will design and build web services in the cloud.
- I will implement cloud-based platforms across the program.
- I will coordinate with the DTP team to prioritize product backlogs for sprints and releases.
- I will assist in monitoring and reporting technical discrepancies and help resolve issues that negatively impact product delivery or overall system costs.
- I will identify and support external dependencies as needed.
Description
VEXTERRA is thrilled to announce an opening for a Senior Cloud Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design, engineering, development, deployment, and utilization of software for the DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP). Our mission is to centralize and standardize the Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) throughout the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC). We integrate both commercial and newly developed software to enhance and support our TCPED platform. In this role, I will work closely with our Cloud Architect, Solution Architects, Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and Operations team, as well as government partners, to manage our cloud solutions, cloud computing strategies, and all related documentation. Most of my work will take place on-site at client locations in Bethesda, MD, although some tasks may be carried out remotely. Desired: - AWS cloud certifications. - Experience with microservices architecture. - Domain knowledge related to data processing and big data applications. - Prior experience supporting DIA/NMEC, DIA/OSIC, and/or D3P. - Familiarity with OSINT.
