Requirements
Must:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field
- 3-7 years of pertinent experience
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java
- Familiarity with observability software like Grafana
- Experience with internal system logging (e.g., ELK)
- Background in developing REST API endpoints
- Knowledge of service-oriented and microservice architectures
- Understanding of infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab)
- Acquainted with database technologies and management principles
- Experience in building cloud-native services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Familiarity with software lifecycles focusing on integrated testing and deployment processes
- Exposure to Kubernetes
- Basic knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD workflows
- Familiarity with Helm or similar tools
- Understanding of SQL and different database systems (relational, NoSQL, graph)
- Experience with automated testing tools and linting
- Strong written communication skills
- Self-motivated problem solver
- Enthusiasm for acquiring and teaching new technical skills
- Experience in geospatial software and related domains (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Knowledge of working with raster data (imagery, basemaps)
- Experience collaborating on a geographically diverse team
Responsibilities
- Design and implement observability systems, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure customer SLAs are met
- Commit code to Git repositories following best practices and conduct Pull Request reviews
- Assist in architecting new features and document the implementation
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and sprint planning sessions
