Requirements
Must:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph required
- 6+ years of professional experience in database management or a related discipline
- Bachelors degree in Database Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong grasp of RDBMS internals (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and best practices in database administration
- Proficient in data integration, ETL pipelines, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, Perl)
- Familiarity with GIS data structures, ESRI ArcGIS portals, geodatabases, and backend connectivity components
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities in high-volume production settings
- Understanding of security, compliance, and operational best practices for production applications
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in classified or DoD environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of cloud-based databases and applications (AWS, Azure, RDS, etc.) is a plus
- Awareness of KM systems, ontology development, or AI-based data applications is beneficial
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices in production support or sustainment is a plus
- Strong communication skills for interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Additional GIS/Geospatial experience beyond ESRI, such as spatial data management and analysis, is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Full-time onsite position located in Reston, VA
- Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot production applications and databases, including ESRI GIS portals and other enterprise systems
- Facilitate data integration and pipelines, ensuring precise and consistent information flow between systems
- Uphold data standards and schema consistency across applications and databases, including geospatial datasets
- Offer technical expertise in application and database sustainment, including schema management, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and connectivity components
- Work collaboratively with development and operations teams to resolve technical challenges and align sustainment tasks with shifting business priorities
- Recognize and mitigate potential security and operational risks in production applications
- Create and maintain technical documentation, processes, and best practices for the sustainability of applications, databases, and GIS systems
