Requirements

Must:
- I require an undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A background in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred, with a graduate degree being advantageous. - You must have a minimum of five years of related work experience, with at least two years leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational technology projects, preferably in Financial Services or technical environments. - Scrum/Agile Certification is strongly preferred. - You should be adept at coaching the Development Team, Product Owner, and the organization, demonstrating active listening, empathy, and the ability to encourage self-discovery through powerful questions. - Excellent communication skills are fundamental, which includes clear articulation of ideas, active listening, and ensuring a shared understanding among team members and stakeholders. - I expect you to lead by example and through service, promoting self-management within the team and empowering team ownership of their processes and decisions. - A strong focus on continuous improvement for both team dynamics and personal development is crucial, encouraging regular reflection on work practices and career growth. - A deep understanding of agile methodologies and the Scrum framework is essential, encompassing the principles and values of Agile, the mechanics of the Scrum process, and effective application of various agile practices. - Exceptional facilitation skills are necessary for guiding teams through Scrum events and decision-making processes, fostering an environment conducive to open collaboration.

Responsibilities

- I will lead, build, and coach high-performing teams in delivering technology-related products or projects, ensuring actions align with project and business goals. I may also instruct or coach other professionals. - I will facilitate planning, team learning, and process adaptations to ensure the quality of team solutions. - I will create a continuous learning environment for the team, identifying ways to strengthen their understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts and principles related to technical capabilities. - I will develop and apply methodologies that support the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into technology-related product development. - I will recommend priorities for technology-related outcomes to the product owner and management, identifying trade-offs between short-term and long-term benefits to drive a shared vision between the team and the product owner. - I will ensure the application of agile frameworks throughout the development process to enhance the effectiveness of technology-related product development or architecture. - I will lead daily scrum meetings, conduct iteration reviews, and maintain backlogs. - I will work to remove roadblocks hindering technology-related product development or architecture and apply learnings to other development projects. - I will participate in special projects and perform other duties as needed.

Description

We are seeking a Scrum Lead for our Wealth Management platform, who is enthusiastic about Agile as much as serving our clients. Wealth Management clients engage multiple lines of business serviced by our Self-Directed, Advised, and Institutional platforms. This role is part of the ‘Advice & Wealth Management Technology’ division of Vanguard, where you will use Agile methodologies to identify and track risks, dependencies, and process improvements for cross-functional teams. I expect you to support 2-3 teams and run product-level operating ceremonies. As part of your responsibilities, you will coach and educate the larger organization for continuous improvements, utilizing metrics to enhance predictability. This hybrid position is based in Dallas, TX.
