Requirements
Must:
- Associates degree in computer/network security, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of system administration experience in production environments.
- Advanced knowledge in administering Windows servers (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
- Proficiency in managing VMware ESXi, including hosts, clusters, and virtual machines.
- Expertise in Cisco networking (switches, access points, firewalls) and related configurations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex incidents.
- Experience with security practices, compliance, and documentation.
- Familiar with backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Initiative to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- Relevant industry certifications (Cisco, Windows, VMware) are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the reliability and performance of our IT infrastructure through server and network administration.
- Install, configure, and sustain Windows servers while conducting regular backups and capacity planning.
- Oversee VMware ESXi environments, managing performance and resolving any issues.
- Configure and support Cisco networks, ensuring security and scalability in designs.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex issues related to servers, virtualization, and networks.
- Monitor system and network performance, addressing any anomalies proactively.
- Implement and uphold security policies and compliance measures, preparing for audit readiness.
- Administer and test backup processes, supporting disaster recovery efforts as needed.
- Prepare change management documentation and coordinate downtime communications.
- Maintain accurate records, including configuration files and procedural documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors and managed service providers to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance and standardize IT operations while contributing to technology roadmaps.
Description
We are seeking a dedicated IT professional to join our team in Milbank, SD, where we prioritize the reliability and performance of our IT infrastructure. This full-time, onsite role includes regular work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional rotating on-call coverage. We provide a supportive work environment in a professional office and data center setting, along with opportunities for training and development.
