Requirements
Must:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
- Active Secret Clearance is required (must be current and maintainable)
- Over 3 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a comparable role
- Profound understanding of Linux system internals, file systems, and command-line tools
- Experience in system monitoring, logging, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with DoD security standards, STIGs, and RMF processes
- Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar languages)
- Capability to operate in a classified, regulated environment
- Willingness to work in a hybrid format onsite in Norco, CA
- If applicable, prior government employment may require a post-employment ethics letter for employment with VSolvit
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and support various Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively resolving any issues
- Apply system patches, updates, and enhancements according to STIGs and internal guidelines
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls efficiently
- Oversee system backups, recovery processes, and continuity planning
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues as they arise
- Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and application teams to ensure system reliability and adherence to compliance
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support as required
